A weekend with Rosie Pope and Lowcountry Live | Southeastern Photographer

What a magical weekend we had! With having a studio in both Orlando and Charleston; there is a lot of time spent on the road. The trip to Charleston was a carefree easy trip with lots of “cha cha slide part 2” and “I like to move it move it- Sasha Baron Cohen version” for my 14 month old. Sometimes our visits are super short, but this was a fun long weekend.

Even though it was a photography related trip, it felt as if I was staring in Mission Impossible: Mom edition. I know many of you moms can totally relate; baby in a pack-and-play five feet away in a hotel room…no movement and no noise and must stay low under the covers so they don’t see you! Can’t wait to go back to staying on James Island but for this trip a hotel was a must. In the meantime, if you have any tips or tricks to make this easier, please please please let me know!

After some fun swinging time at Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park {love the bridge playground replica, one of our favorites for sure!!}; it was off to meet Rosie Pope at the Southern Baby Show!

What a delight, the Southern Baby Show was, full of beautiful and unique products for new and expecting moms. Planning a few reviews on some of the products, in the near future. There was a nursery pillow design by Shuga Bebe Couture that was just OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING! Besides products, they also had fun classes…I stopped in to see the wonderful Stephanie Coffin {Bellies Babies and Beyond concierge} discuss the top items for your baby registry. She had a very unique approach that totally made sense; don’t purchase or spend less on non-essentials instead spend the money where it matters: jogging strollers, swings etc.

Front row, first seat…I was ready to chat with Rosie Pope! I watched her show on Bravo from the beginning, but had no idea how funny she was. She talked to us about the first 48 hours, with her first child. It even included, hitting her own head off the car seat, to see how much it hurt; when she accidentally did it to her son. {We have all been there, right?!?}  A little Q & A with the moms and a quick book signing…it was a great time. I even had a few minutes to talk about Birth Centers, how she travels with her young kiddos and what she recommends to traveling nursing moms. Thanks again to the wonderful Rosie Pope for coming to the Southern Baby Show.

On our final day in the area, it was time for the much anticipated; Lowcountry Live interview. I won’t lie, it was a bit nerve racking but on the same note, I was also very calm and collected. Sat down with the terrific Tom Crawford from 4 News WCIV, as we discussed the full service concierge style portrait studio; that we provide to our clients. If you have a few minutes, would love to know what you think of the interview. Minus a bad hair day, it was an absolute blast. Can’t wait to do it again!
